Gucci x Balenciaga “Aria”

After a century since the house of Gucci was born, Alessandro Michele (creative director) unveiled a collection where he pulls together wild references from different places & times and refashions them into contemporary cultural statements. The collection was bursting with equestrian references, including “Savoy Club” riding hats, bridles and horse bit body harnesses.

With the first collaboration TheNorthFace x Gucci beginning of January 2021, the house come back as mentioned by Gucci’s representatives, the joint effort is not a “collaboration,” but a “hacking lab” wherein creative director Alessandro Michele lifted elements from Balenciaga’s history with permission from the latter imprint’s Demna Gvasalia, uniting key elements of each Kering mainstay.
